In 2023 we have been reaccredited for the seventh consecutive time at its Pamplona headquarters and in 2024 it has been accredited at its Madrid headquarters. Outside the United States, the Clinic is considered one of the first accredited academic hospitals in the world and the only Spanish one in that category.

Furthermore, it was the first Spanish centre to obtain certification from the Joint Commission International for University Hospitals in February of 2014.

The Joint Commission International (JCI) is a division of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), which is currently the largest accreditation organization in the United States in the field of healthcare.

It certifies that a center has reached the peak performance in its assigned goal, measuring the relevant functions of the organization and establishing standards of good practices.

The accreditation manifests the organization's clear commitment to the improvement of the quality of patient care, ensuring a safe environment, and continuous effort to reduce risks for patients and staff.

For this reason, the Clinic offers its patients the possibility of notifying their concerns about the safety and quality of their care through the Patient Care Service, suggestion boxes, or reporting about them directly to the Joint Commission International.

The accreditation is a rigorous process in which an entity, separate and distinct from the healthcare organization, evaluates the centre in order to determine a series of requirements designed to improve the quality of care. This certification constitutes an international guarantee of good medical practices.
